  1. I met a wonderful man unexpectedly at a concert a couple years ago to whom i became very attracted. He apparently had just shaved his mustache and slight beard just prior to meeting me. I honestly believe I would not have found him as attractive if he were his usual mustache bearded self. Two years later I tug on his bearded chin when we make love and I enjoy his face regardless so it doesn’t matter to me now. I think a mustache is a man’s way of creating a certain masculine look. Women can style their hair but a man’s choices of personal hairstyle is somewhat more restrictive.

  2. Elisabeth,I have a mustache and have worn one since just after I graduated from high school, which was in June of 1973. Fortunately for me, it grew out in a very full and bushy manner, not scraggly and thin. I have kept it since then and it has become sort of a trademark for me. On the rare occasions that I have had to shave it off( medical procedures, job requiremants) family and friends have commented that I should grow it back as soon as possible. My musstache has given me a look and air of maturity, masculinity and authourity. One time I was dating a nice woman and I had to shave for oral surgery. Afterwards, she told me that if I wanted kiss her again, I had better regrow the “cookie duster”, which she found, according to her, quite sexy. So, that is the reason I have kept it, come what may. Thank you.

  3. My mother instilled a love of mustaches for me… No, she didn’t have one, of course! But one of her main heartthrobs was Tom Selleck. She LOVES Tom Selleck and so would always watch his television shows and movies. I would watch them with her and I came to love the Selleck ‘Stash as much as she does.A couple of male friends of mine have grown handlebar mustaches and it looks great on them. I do love a man with a luxuriant, well-groomed mustache.

  4. I need to take back every negative thing that I have said about mustaches! People are contacting me about it … and I wish to thank the two of you for making comments on my blog.Lord knows, I’ve known men with mustaches that were over and above in many different ways. Often, I’ll freely admit to not putting a lot of thought into my posts and tend to write off the cuff. This was one of those times!
